Wheel balancing is priced per wheel, so a set of four costs four times the single-wheel rate, and the rate depends mainly on wheel size — a 17-inch alloy takes longer to balance than a 14-inch steel wheel. Shah Patel & Co. quotes balancing per wheel at all five Ahmedabad branches and balancing is included when you buy tyres fitted. Ring the branch or send an enquiry with your wheel size for the current rate; anyone quoting a single flat price without asking your wheel size is guessing.
What the price depends on
- Wheel size. A larger-diameter wheel with a low-profile tyre needs finer correction and more time.
- Steel or alloy. Alloys usually take adhesive weights fitted inside the rim rather than clip-on weights, which is a more careful job.
- Whether you are buying tyres. Balancing is part of fitting a new tyre, so it should not appear as a separate charge on a tyre purchase.
- Whether the valve or weights need replacing, which is a small parts cost on top.
What should be included
A balancing job worth paying for includes all of this. If any of it is missing, you are not comparing like with like on price:
- Each wheel measured on a computerised balancer, not judged by eye.
- Corrective weights fitted, and old weights removed rather than left on.
- A re-check spin after the weights go on, to confirm the correction worked.
- Pressures set to the vehicle’s specification afterwards.
- The valve checked, since a perished valve on an otherwise good tyre is a slow leak waiting to happen.
Get the current rate Ring your nearest SPC branch with your wheel size, or send an enquiry and we will come back with the rate for your car specifically. Balancing takes about 30 to 40 minutes for a set of four.
Is it worth it, or is it an upsell?
It is worth it when there is a symptom, and it is not worth doing speculatively. Balance the wheels if the steering wheel or the seat vibrates at a particular speed — usually somewhere between 60 and 80 km/h — or if the tread is wearing in patches. Balance them as a matter of course whenever a tyre is fitted or a wheel comes off the car.
What balancing will not fix is a car pulling to one side, or one edge of a tyre wearing faster than the other. Those are alignment symptoms, and paying for balancing will not touch them.
Common questions
How much does wheel balancing cost in Ahmedabad?
Balancing is charged per wheel and the rate depends on wheel size, because a large-diameter alloy takes more time and finer correction than a small steel wheel. Shah Patel & Co. quotes per wheel at all five Ahmedabad branches, and balancing is included in the price when you buy tyres fitted. Ring the branch with your wheel size for the current rate.
Is wheel balancing included when I buy new tyres?
Yes. Balancing is part of fitting a tyre properly, so it is included when you buy tyres fitted at Shah Patel & Co. and should not appear as a separate line. Ask before agreeing to any tyre purchase where balancing is quoted as an extra.
How long does wheel balancing take?
About 30 to 40 minutes for a set of four wheels, including measuring each wheel on the balancer, fitting corrective weights, re-checking, and setting the pressures. A single wheel takes about ten minutes.
